The Musée de l'Armée is putting on a documentary exhibition about the United States and their relations with France during this major conflict. On over twenty boards, photographs, paintings, posters, monuments and heritage objects will be displayed to evoke the personalities of La Fayette, Pershing and Foch, along with the American Independence Day celebrations at Les Invalides, the representation of the Sammies by painters, and the transportation of troops and equipment.
In order to put on this exhibition, the Musée de l'Armée will draw on its own document archives and collections and will team up with three partner institutions: the Bibliothèque de Documentation Internationale Contemporaine de l'Université de Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense (BDIC), the Establishment of Communication and Audiovisual Production of Defence (ECPAD), and the Library of Congress in Washington.
