Presentation

From March 27, 2013 to July 14, 2013; the musée de l’Armée presents Napoleon and Europe.

Just steps away from Napoleon's tomb in the Dome of the Invalides and our rich collections dedicated to the French First Empire, the exhibition Napoleon and Europe is the largest ever organized in France since the one organized at the Grand Palais in 1969

Napoleon Bonaparte has durably and deeply marked the history of Europe. This exhibition reflects the French emporor’s European ambitions between 1793 and 1815 and provides a fresh crosswise analysis on war, politics, public administration, currency, propaganda and art...

More than 250 works of art, artifacts and documents on loan from over fifty museums and prestigious institutions illustrate the progress this exceptional epic.

This exhibition was organized by the musée de l’Armée and developed with the Kunst-und Ausstellungshalle der Bundesrepublik Deutschland with the help and support of the Fondation Napoléon.
