History of les Invalides Gallery

Fully renovated in 2024, the majestic History of Les Invalides Gallery invites guests to discover—or rediscover—350 years of an exceptional monument with many different functions, from its foundation by Louis XIV to the present day, through unique works of art and an innovative exhibition design.

Originally the dining hall for the residents of Les Invalides, this impressive space is adorned with seventeenth-century wall paintings celebrating the military victories of Louis XIV. Located on the ground floor and directly accessible from the Cour d'Honneur, it provides a remarkable setting for a prestigious event among the Museum's collections. Covering 325 sq m (3,498 sq ft), the gallery can accommodate up to 30 guests for a seated dinner or up to 70 guests for a standing cocktail reception.

Located adjacent to the History of Les Invalides Gallery, the Valenciennes Corridor offers additional event space. Also fully renovated, this 100 sq m (1,076 sq ft) area can accommodate up to 30 guests for a standing cocktail reception.
