The Musée de l'Armée offers special access arrangements to make your visit easier, along with group tours.

Practical information

Parking and entrance

Visitors with mobility disabilities are invited to enter at 6 boulevard des Invalides. Places are reserved for them in the back alleys.

Lifts

All areas of the Museum are accessible and equipped with lifts. The department of antique weapons and armour has step-free, ground floor access. There is a lift to the other areas. The Museum of the Order of the Liberation also has ground floor access via the southern entrance, and the Museum of Relief Maps is accessible by lift.

Please note: the Dome containing the Tomb of Napoleon is not accessible to people with reduced mobility (steps inside and outside).

Wheelchair loans

People with mobility difficulties can borrow a wheelchair* at the ticket desk on the Esplanade des Invalides and Place Vauban sides.

Proof of identity is required, to be left at the reception desk during your visit.

Conditions of free admission

Admission to the Museum is free for the disabled person and one accompanying person. Valid proof of eligibility must be shown. An admission ticket is nonetheless required for access to the Museum areas. A ticket can be collected at the south ticket office near the Dome, which is equipped with an access ramp, as is the Carré des Invalides (restaurant).

Visitors in a group

Groups looking to visit on their own without a tour guide must book first by sending an e-mail to:  jeunes@nullmusee-armee.fr.

Access to the Museum is via 129 rue de Grenelle (from 10am to 6pm) or via Place Vauban (only from 2pm to 6pm). Enjoy your visit!
