The Musée de l'Armée is the ideal place to learn about the history of France. Its exceptional collections offer a unique, immersive experience for children and adults alike.
Tickets
For a self-guided visit, you can buy your tickets on site at one of the Museum's ticket desks, for adults (full price: €14) and children.
Admission (you will need to collect a free ticket at the till, and show valid proof of eligibility)

Family activities
Relive history with the family thanks to a rich collection weapons, uniforms, paintings, photographies, military equipments, flags, vehicles, armours, canons, sculptures and military tombs. The Musée de l’Armée (Hôtel of Les Invalides) offers a unique opportunity of a time and space travel from Middle Age to World War II. For example, you can discover the great historical figures who made their mark on Les Invalides, like Louis XIV and Napoleon I, or follow in the footsteps of the medieval knights.

In the permanent collections
Animations in French only
- Investigation games (age 7 and up): the visit to the Museum is combined with puzzles and challenges, turning children into detectives. Length: 1h30 to 2h.
- Story tours (age 7 and up): immersive activity with a storyteller, for children to learn about the life of a historical figure through the Museum's collections. Length: 1h30.
- Workshops (age 6 and up): after learning about the collections, the workshops offer a hands-on activity (creating a coat of arms, fantastical animal, etc.). Length: 2h.
- Guided tours (age 7 and up): a discovery tour of one of the Museum's departments. This tour encourages children to use their powers of observation. Length: 1h30.
In the temporary exhibition

- Fun tours are available for families to discover the artworks and objects in the exhibition with a tour guide.

- Fun signs dotted throughout the exhibition help younger visitors to discover the exhibition.
- There is also a challenge for young ones so they can enjoy the visit along with the rest of the family.

Prices
The French tour price is €7 per child and €14 per accompanying adult. Adults are welcome on our tours (required for children under 6 years old). Once the activity is over, you can continue with your tour of the collections.

Organise a birthday party or private tour for your child and their friends
All the above activities can be chosen for a birthday event or a private tour (only in French).
- Wednesdays are for investigation games, workshops and guided tours.
- Saturdays are for story tours only.
- Sundays (from March 2019) are for investigation games, workshops and guided tours.
- Group of 15 children maximum. At least one accompanying adult must be present.
Prices: €7 per child and €14 per accompanying adult (1 adult required).

Café-restaurant
The Le Carré des Invalides café-restaurant, near the ticket desk on the Place Vauban side, has menus for children and adults. The Petit Soldat set menu (up to age 12) consists of a sandwich or salad, a dessert and a drink for €8.5.
